A Road Trip To Shimla

Hello Guys, Welcome to my blog post, Today I am going to share with you my unique travel experience of my Shimla Road Trip. The trip was accomplished with me and my friend Milan, it was a winter trip from Chandigarh to Shimla on bike (Almost 107 KMs one sided).

So the journey starts from 6 am on 03rd December, 2020, we both are very excited and ready to start our journey, A long ride on a bike to the heavenly scenic mountains with your lovely friend is itself a great adventurous experience. Both of us are going to Shimla for the first time and had no idea about the unknown place. I already fuelled up the bike last night so that we don't have any problems later, If you are also planning to go for a bike ride (Road Trip) then please keep your riding gears and backpacks ready on the last night, it will very helpful for you to keep all things easily manageable and you won't forget any thing for your trip. So after crossing Kalka-Pinjore Highway we entered in Himachal Pradesh and the hills started appearing, the excitement increased as the altitude increased and riding a bike on the hilly roads was really a pleasure and enjoyable experience.

The journey is more fun than reaching the destination. After 2 hours of continuous drive, we took tea break at Solan, there we took some pictures and enjoyed the nature, peaceful mountains and cool breeze.

With a total ride of 4.5 hours we reached Shimla and the city is very beautiful, full of breathtaking natural views. There, first of all we were trying to book a room in hotel near Mall Road which is too expensive for us, so we leave that option and try to find a budget friendly room. We got a very good deal but a bit far from the mall road, no problem, although we save some of our hard earned money there. We leave our backpacks in the room and get ready to explore the beauty of Shimla. We had great moments together and enjoyed every single moment to the fullest.

"Shimla Diaries"

Places we Explored there (Places to visit in Shimla)

Jakhoo Temple:
First we gone to Jakhoo Hanuman Temple Via Mall road , at there a wonderfull trek of almost 2KM with a steep of 200 steps. we took half an hour to climb up and completed the trail/steps. You can see numerous of monkeys at the temple premises and they can snatch any eatables or any other objects from your hand, so it will very helpful for you to keep your hands free and kept your things in bags with strong hooked. At the temple a Tall statue of Hanuman Ji toweing there which is 108 ft tall and this is the tallest Hanuman Statue in the world. The statue looks imposing from the ridge and mall road area during the day as well as at night when illuminated.

The Ridge and Christ Church:
After returning from Jakhoo Temple, we walked to the Ridge and there we saw beautiful and scenic views from the side railings. In Ridge you can take a horse ride and photographs on horse and has various picture capturing spots. At there with a short distance of approx. 100-200M the Christ Christ is also a picture scenic place where one can capture the adorable moment of the Shimla Diaries. By all this it was already evening and we had to roam around the Lakkar Bazaar and Mall Road also.

Lakkar Bazaar:
So after taking some pics and capturing some cool moments ahead the Church together me and Milan go ahead to explore the Lakkar bazaar without wasting the time. Lakkar bazaar also very near to the Ride and Church and very famous for the wooden made beautiful objects. With a distance of hardly 200M, in Lakkar bazaar we bought some wooden keychains and other wooden objects for home and then take a enjoyable walk through the market area. The place is very beautiful and charming at night as lighting makes it an illuminating . The market is also very adorable and budget friendly for shopping.

Mall Road
When the sun sets over the wonderful hills of Shimla, a magical transformation takes place on the famous Mall Road. We both feel very awesome as the day sets, Mall Road comes alive with a unique blend of colonial charm and modern vibrancy. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect during an evening stroll on this iconic street. At there we explore the inviting lights of its countless shops, restaurants and cafes. The colonial-era architecture, with its quaint wooden facades and ornate lamp posts, adds an old-world charm that's hard to resist. Shops along the Mall Road offer an array of souvenirs, handicrafts, woolen clothes and exquisite jewellery. Whether you're looking for a memento to remember your trip or unique gifts for your loved ones. We had dinner at there and go to our hotel as we have to leave for home in the morning because its our 1 day 1 night trip.

You can visit more places in shimla if you had more than 1 day, As there Kufri which is Approx. 15KM from the Mall road. Any one can easily complete there shimla trip with kufri in 2 days as 1 day for Shimla explore and second day for Kufri as there many adventurous activities to play in kufri which is itself a great experience with snow.

At the next day morning we woke up with an awesome sun rise view, The first thing you'll notice when you step outside in the morning is the fresh, invigorating mountain air. It brings with it the smell of pine and the promise of a new beginning. Taking deep breaths of this pure air is like a natural detox for your lungs. After getting ready to leave the Hotel, we start the bike and start our ride back to Chandigarh.

Nostalgia is probably the most powerful emotion you will feel when leaving Shimla. Memories of fresh mountain air, misty mornings and breathtaking views linger in your mind. You will yearn for quiet walks, delicious local cuisine and moments of quiet contemplation.
